San Francisco’s Treats Part One

San Francisco Treats.

San Francisco summer of 2014 was supposed to be shorts and t-shirts at the beach. It was July after all, and I expected to be greeted with warm and sunny weather. This was not the case. It was so cold when we arrived that afternoon, we had no choice but to purchase those hoodies from the local Walgreens along with the touristy beanie to compliment the outfit. I don’t know what I was thinking, but San Fran had surprised me in more ways than one. It was cold and it was gloomy, and I was totally not prepared. You have to understand that even as a photographer in a strange city, I didn’t have proper focus.

Everything is Art.

This place (despite the cold) has everything that most photographers dream about. Be ready to do tons of walking because you will want to explore every nook and cranny of what San Francisco has to offer. Scouting out for the perfect shots of day time to night life beauty is what the city has to offer. Artistic sites as far as the eyes can see, and you will want to put down your camera to experience these moments. You will fall in love with the city, but be aware that there is much more to explore.

Wait there is More!

So I am over the fact that Dallas summers and San Francisco summers are vastly different. Earlier we had run into celebrities Jason Stathom and Tom Green (they weren’t together) enjoying the artistic side of the Bay Area. That was kind of cool! I had taken tons of photographs pretty much undisturbed throughout the day, but at night, well everything changed. The city really does go through a kind of facelift as the evening progresses. I would say you tend to notice shady practices and streets riddled with drug addicts as they approach you for a hand out. It could have been the location of where I was taking photos that night, I do take risks, but I was getting too much attention than what I am used to for night photography. It didn’t bother me too much, and I continued to snap away through the night waiting to make my way to the Golden Gate Bridge the following morning. I know every single angle imaginable has been shot of this beautiful bridge, but I can’t wait to show you mine.

To be Continued!

These are memories of a time I pulled out of the photo archives, but nevertheless these are beautiful moments to reflect upon in such an incredible city. Stay with me! I’ll show you more of San Francisco in the days to come.
