Drones find a place to land in the real estate industry

I’ve heard talk about there being drones all over the skies in the United States as early as next year. For all that talk, you have to wonder how those drones will be used. People hear the word drone, and it brings forth mixed emotions. I’d like to clear the air (no pun intended) on this matter. Drones have positive uses, and I definitely see them as creative tools. I am certain that in the near future there will be licensing of these air crafts much like we are licensed to drive an automobile. You might have heard of the incident of someone piloting a drone over the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas not too long ago. It might have made for a good laugh, but it most likely got the individual into a hot mess. These types of incidents are what make it difficult for the entire RC community.

Drones have been approved for use in law enforcement, and often can be used to survey a large area to search for missing people. You can’t argue with that, and especially if safety is a big concern. Speaking of safety, safety inspectors can now send drones over construction sites to see a large area in real time. Firefighters can also make use of drones flying over an active fire to determine a variety of factors which would help save lives. Drones can be misused, I do not debate that, but on the opposite side of that coin, drones have been very useful for our economy.

On the positive side, Remax agent Donna Noto experienced what a drone could do for her business recently. Moera Creative shot this beautiful property in great detail. It is always a pleasure to have a client take interest in the services I provide, and Mrs Noto was amazed at what this technology meant for her career.

Real estate agents in the Dallas/Fort Worth area often contact me for drone services because they know what it does to improve their business. It is always a great experience capturing different perspectives of a property in the sky. We’ve received positive feedback on our work, and the amount of response has been phenomenal.

From surface to air, from exterior to interior, we have got that solution covered in the Leyton community. This is where we not only show potential home buyers the sky view, but the entrance to the community, and the interior of the home. I think we did a great job here at showing what a drone can do when applying some creative direction to it.

Brian Luker of Briggs Freeman | Sotheby’s International, has given us a thumbs up for his listings. Drones have been an effective tool set for the real estate community, and they will continue to expand into other industries and territories not yet explored.
