Hello friend.
Guess who is back? Your friendly neighborhood photographer here. I have captured another series of images, but this time it is the Turnbull family. What is so special about the Turnbulls you may ask? Very simple. They drove about 90 minutes just to do a photo session with me at Eagle Mountain Lake Park. Every photographer and their mom has come to this location to shoot because it is hardly ever packed. It is so out of the way, that while my time in Fort Worth, it made it convenient to shoot here at this location.
So here we go. This beautiful family shows up and is eager to get things started because we are already losing natural light. So we begin with individual shots of each family member doing their signature poses that they sort of made up during the session. These folks were naturals in front of the camera. Each one with their own distinct personality, and it showcased in every image captured.
Mom and Dad got involved with their own little style of panache for the shoot. Acting like teens again, and they had so much fun. I almost forgot who the adults were, but alas, it is always good to have a lot of fun during a photo shoot. All smiles and a delight to work with. I can think of many ways working with family portraiture can be a photographer’s nightmare, but there was positivity all around here.
We shot for a couple of hours this day. The weather was perfect and the natural light lasted a lot longer than we had hoped for. The photos turned out better than I expected too. This session was before I acquired the Profoto B2s, and instead I was still lifting around the Profoto D1s as well at the BatPac. I was up for the challenge though, and my favorite part of the shoot was how awesome this beautiful family was to work with. We balanced the session with the right amount of time, the right amount of light, and the right amount of enthusiasm for outstanding results.
