Speak softly and carry an axe.

A brand new Nashville Deluxe Fender Telecaster with the Pau Ferro fingerboard colored Daphne Blue in hand. Damn, what a time to be a rockstar! Growing up these days with ease of access to these kinds of instruments must be a dream come true. Let’s chat about the spoiled rotten generation of today…nah just kidding. I wouldn’t want to get cancelled! We took some gear out to the Hart Trail in Frisco, Texas on this beautiful sunny day for a White Stripes inspired photo shoot. It was a hot day and with that Texas heat it means you have to be pretty quick in the set up, lots of make up retouches, or find some shade to kill that sun burn.

Photo tip: Bring water and a bluetooth speaker!

Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground by Moera Creative Photography and Design Frisco, Texas

Guitar Life.

We found a nice little empty walk path with the metal railing giving off the bridge vibe in Hart Trail. Sometimes I like shooting in calm environments where I don’t have to worry about the pressure of foot traffic interrupting the shots. A little bit more control with only the elements of the weather to worry about. This gives me plenty of opportunity to set up props within nature. A Fender guitar and a Fender tube amp in the middle of a trail which surprisingly wasn’t flowing with runners was the best that we could do this day. Dead leaves and the dirty ground a track by the White Stripes inspired us to find such a place. During the pandemic a major boredom must have really set in for a lot of people. Bicycles and instruments were flying off the shelves. I mean people were looking to these things to fulfill their daily boredom. Before you knew it the masses were becoming musicians over night. Then the supply ran dry and you had to think of what else there was to do. Fortunately for us the creativity runs in the family.

Tweed.

We had a nice little rock and roll display at the bare minimum, and a couple of lights hit our subjects without overpowering the natural light of the scene. I wanted this to look as naturally lit as possible. Bokeh is from that Nikkor AF-S 70-200 mm. Sweet spot buttery bokeh indeed! I think we did ok with these shots. Pretty standard photo shoot with about an hour in before we broke down and took off from the heat. We brought water and utilized the natural shade, so make sure to hydrate if you’re going to go against the Texas heat this summer!
