The Art Students League Dream Ball 2023.
The sexy sounds of Scottish bagpipe and the colorful self expression worn in plastic costuming. This is The Art Students League Dream Ball 2023 event. Each fruitful guest frolicking their footing towards the fancy red carpet to begin their festive night filled with friendships, fun, photography, and many other F words to complete the alliteration. Woah, to those who decided to stay at home to play Elden Ring or Dead Island 2 as an entertainment substitute, well, you certainly missed out on an exciting evening filled with REALLY colorful characters that can’t be controlled by joysticks.
DIY costumes as far as the eye could see on the level that was somewhere in between party city and comic con. When I finally realized that what I was experiencing was not an acid flashback, only then could I take pleasure in viewing a community of people from all walks of life as they joined together in a festive night of drinking and dancing. Think of it like a gigantic jar where you fill it up with creative people in costumes, add some alcohol, and you just shake the shit out of it all night. That’s what I call a success.
A little history lesson for those art aficionados (I swear this isn’t a copy paste). The Art Students League Dream Ball was started in the 1920’s as a fundraiser for the League’s scholarship funds. Tales were told of the original Dream Balls being held in Grand Ballrooms of the Waldorf Astoria and Plaza Hotel. So, you could say that everyone who was there that night was a part of history in the making.
I’m talking history right now. Wow, this definitely has to be an acid flashback.
